Ontario immigration issued new Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Provincial Nomination for Canada Permanent Residency for the Express Entry candidates through its Skilled Trades & French-Speaking Worker Streams.
Ontario Immigration: Skilled Trades Worker Invitations
Ontario issued 439 invitations through its Skilled Trades Stream on a draw held on 19th October.
This is the highest invitations issued so far in 2018 and it brings the total number of Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to 1,445 issued through this stream.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP’s) Skilled Trades Stream allow Ontario to search for the candidates in the Federal Express Entry Pool, who are living in Ontario currently, and have at least 1 year full-time work-experience or a part-time work in a skilled trade listed in Major Group 72, 73, or 82 or Minor Group 633 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Canada.
- The candidates must meet the requirements for the Canadian Experience Class that is managed by the Express Entry System.
- The candidates must meet the stream’s provincial criteria, including other criteria like minimum ability or proficiency in the French or English language of CLB 5 (Canadian Language Benchmark).
- No minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score is required for this stream.
The candidates on receiving provincial nomination will be awarded an additional 600 points towards their CRS score by Ontario. They will move in the front line for an ITA for Canada PR.
Ontario Immigration: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Invitations
OINP also issued 39 new invitations through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream in the same draw held on 18th October 2018. The total number of invitations issued till now through this stream in 2018 is 1,316.
There is no minimum CRS score required for this stream and all candidates must have their online profile in the Federal Express Entry System.
