Manitoba announces 2 new immigration pathways called as the “fast-track” immigration pathways for the international graduates of the province’s post-secondary institutions.
The Graduate Internship Pathway and the International Student Entrepreneur Pathway are the two immigration pathways as announced by Manitoba. They were created a year ago as part of the MPNP’s (Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program) renewal program. Both pathways are part of the International Education Stream of the province.
The MPNP program of Manitoba allows the nomination of a set of immigration candidates for Canada PR every year. This has welcomed more than 130,000 newcomers so far since it was created in 1998.
International Student Entrepreneur Pathway
It’s for the international graduates who have done a minimum of a 2-year program at a post-secondary institution of Manitoba, and want to operate and establish a business in Manitoba. Candidates should invest and manage the business actively.
The candidates who will be selected under the International Student Entrepreneur pathway will receive a temporary work permit as a 2-year pilot program, said Manitoba’s government.
Graduate Internship Pathway
This is for the international students who have completed either Doctoral degree, or a Master’s at any university in the province within the 3 years and an eligible internship.
Both the pathways are designed to attract and retain talented entrepreneurs and innovators from all over the world, said Kelvin Goertzen, the Minister of Education and Training.
Candidates who have completed an Elevate or Accelerate internships organized through Mitacs (a non-profit organization that links universities and industries across Canada and overseas), with eligible research and industrial enterprises in Manitoba can apply with or without a job offer from an employer in the province.
