Saskatchewan's First Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand Invitations of 2019 - Akkam Overseas

Saskatchewan issued a total of 596 invitations to apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination for Canada PR through its Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand draws held on January 16, 2019.

Saskatchewan issued a total of 362 ITAs through Express Entry Sub-category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The express entry subcategory is linked to the Federal Express Entry System and allows nominations of candidates for Canada PR.

Express Entry candidates will get an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score on receiving a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan. This will assure an invitation from the Canadian government to apply for Canada PR.

The express entry candidates must have work experience in a highly skilled occupation from the In-Demand occupations list, among other criteria.

Saskatchewan issued remaining 234 ITAs to the candidates in the In-Demand Occupation sub-category. This sub-category is not linked to the Federal express entry system and is open for the foreign workers who have work experience in one of the occupations from the In-demand occupations list of Saskatchewan, among other criteria.

The lowest score for the express entry sub-category was 63 while for the Occupation In-Demand sub-category was 66.

Job offer is not required from a Saskatchewan employer for eligibility for either express entry or the In-Demand Occupation sub-category.

The selection process for both the sub-categories is based on an Expression of Interest (EOI).

The candidates who are interested to be considered by Saskatchewan under any of the two sub-categories must first create their EOI profile. They must provide information like education, proficiency in French/English, work experience, and other factors.

The candidates’ profile will be scored on the basis of the answers they provided. The candidates with 60or more points are entered into the candidates’ pool for either of the two sub-categories of Saskatchewan.

The highest ranked candidates will be drawn from the candidates’ pool through regular draws by the province.
