An Expression of Interest draw was held by the Province of Manitoba on March 1st, and 403 immigration candidates were invited so that they can apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence. Currently, the invitations numbers which were issued in this year by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is 2,267.
Those candidates who were invited got an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile registered with MPNP.
The streams are:
- International Education stream
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
If you want to be selected for a nomination from Manitoba, then submit an EOI profile through any of these streams. This involves individuals who got a profile registered through the federal Express Entry system. A score is awarded to EOI profiles based on factors such as work experience, education, established connections to Manitoba and language proficiency. A Letter of Advice to Apply is also issued to highest-ranked candidates through regular invitation rounds. The group of 216 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who got LAAs during the March 1 draw includes Express Entry candidates.
Express Entry candidates who got LAA should have a valid Express Entry ID, a minimum of six months of work experience in a particular profession which is included on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List and a job-seeker validation code. An additional 600 points as the Express Entry ranking score is awarded to those Express Entry candidates who receive and apply for a provincial nomination. This acts as an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in next Express Entry Draw.
Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who got invitations on March 1st had these credentials:
- Work experience, experience or a relative in Manitoba
- Minimum of six months of experience in occupation included in the Manitoba’s In-demand Occupations list
- Language proficiency in French or English of CLB/NCLC 5
Candidates who were ranked low in this group of Skilled Workers Overseas got an EOI score of 565. In the March 1st draw, LAAs were issued to other 41 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. These initiatives also include overseas recruitment missions which are conducted by the MPNP. Among this group, the lowest-ranked candidate got an EOI score of 621. One hundred twenty-six invitations were issued by the MPNP to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates who got a low score of 566 during the March 1st draw.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is for international student graduates and eligible temporary foreign workers who were offered a permanent job with their Manitoba employer and are presently working in Manitoba. International Education Stream candidates got an extra 20 invitations. Besides, this stream also gives quicker pathways to permanent residence for those international graduates of Manitoba post-secondary institutions who got skills needed by employers in the province.
