361 Invitations Issued By Ontario to Express Entry Candidates in Recent Skilled Trades Stream Draw

In the Skilled Trades Stream Draw draw held on March 21st, 361 invitations were issued through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to those eligible candidates who have already submitted their Express Entry profile from March 21st, 2018 to March 21st, 2019. New invitations were issued by the province of Ontario to apply for permanent residence to Express Entry candidates through its Skilled Trades Stream on March 21st.

The pool of candidates for three main economic immigration categories of Canada is managed by the federal Express Entry system. The three economic immigration categories are the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Federal Skilled Worker Class.

The Skilled Trades Stream allows the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to find the Express Entry pool for Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Class candidates presently residing in Ontario and have a minimum of one-year full-time work experience or equivalent part-time work experience.

The equivalent part-time work experience should be in a skilled trade mentioned in Minor Group 633 / Major Group 72, 73, or 82 under National Occupational Classification (NOC) of Canada.

Candidates need no job offer so as to apply under the Skilled Trades Stream, but they should meet all necessary provincial and federal requirements mentioned by the OINP.

Those Candidates who are nominated through the Skilled Trades Stream for Canadian permanent residence will get an extra six hundred Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. An Invitation to Apply is guaranteed to the candidates for Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry system.

In 2019, a total of 732 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates through the Skilled Trades Stream. If a candidate needs to be identified under the Skilled Trades Stream, then he/she should enter the Express Entry pool.
