June 2018 – The Highest Express Entry ITAs Record Month for Canada

June 2018: The Highest Express Entry ITAs Record - Akkam Overseas

Canada has increased Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. There were two draws issued by Canada in the month of June 2018, issuing a total of 7,500 candidates to apply for Canada PR. June 2018 has been the busiest month since Express Entry was introduced by Canada in 2015.

IRCC, Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship issued 3,750 ITAs each in the two all-program consecutive draws held on June 13, and June 25. June has proven as the largest ITAs round yet in 2018.

Express Entry System manages the pool of candidates for the three main economic immigration classes of Canada, “Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trade Class, and Canadian Experience Class.” The number of Express Entry ITAs issued has gradually increased from 2015-2018. Below is the graph showing how ITAs has increased over the course of the years 2015-2018.

Future Express Entry ITA Draws

The number of ITAs issued in June 2018, i.e. 7,500 is double than the number of ITAs i.e. 3,409 issued in June 2017. 2018 has smashed all the previous ITA records so far.

It’s now half of the year 2018, IRCC has already issued 39,700 ITAs (less than half of the total ITAs issued in 2017) so far which was 86,023 for the full year 2017. Draw sizes might be continued to be frequent and large in the remaining months of 2018 if IRCC plans for increasing the ITAs of what it was in 2017. Canada can reach the targets which it has set for the year 2018-2019.

Frequent and larger draw size ITAs can have the effect on lowering the CRS score as witnessed in June. The cut-off CRS score for the second draw held on June 25 was 442. The cut-off CRS score was 451 in the draw held on June 13 which was held 12 days later to its previous draw. So you can see how frequent ITA is lowering down the cut-off CRS score. Here is the graph showing the minimum cut-off CRS score requirement in the Express Entry draws 2018.

Further reduction in the minimum cut-off CRS score could be seen. Now what needs to be seen is, what steps would IRCC take to achieve its targets for the remaining year 2018? Let’s hope for the best.
