Canada marked and celebrated their one-year anniversary for the Global talent Stream Pilot Program Canada on 12th June 2018. Canada is maintaining its positions in hiring highly skilled immigrants and as a global leader in the Innovative Technology. This article about what Canada has decided on their anniversary of the Global Talent Stream Pilot Program. Later will discuss what exactly the Global Talent Stream stands for.

Canada’s Global Talent Stream is a 2-year pilot program which enables the Canadian employers to fill up their vital positions in business and organization by hiring highly skilled foreign immigrants. They give priority to the necessary skills who can fill their vital positions while processing for the work permits.

Canada wants the employers to prove their efficiency in creating benefits for their economy and Canadian labour market. But limited occupations are eligible for the program stream. To celebrate their one year anniversary, they added three new occupations in-demand list.

  • Engineering Managers – NOC 0211
  • Architecture and Science Managers – NOC 0212
  • Mathematicians and Statisticians – NOC 2161

The good news is, once the newcomer gets enough work experience, he/she will be eligible for Canada PR through the Canadian Experience Class of Express Entry.

How does Global Talent Stream (GTS) Work?

It is a part of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) of Canada and helps the employers of Canada to hire highly skilled talent. The newcomers can either apply for category A or Category B of the GTS.

For Category A, an employer must have been referred by one of the designated partners of the GTS. Here is the list of designated partners in the GTS as updated on 5th April 2018.

For Category B. an employer must hire high-skilled foreign talent to fill their positions in occupations that are there in the Global talent Occupation List. Here is the in-demand occupations list of the Global Talent Stream as updated on 13th June 2018. After the changes, the GTS occupation list numbered to 13.
